The City of Los Angeles has officially designated:
September 1 through September 8, 2026
as:
BTS WEEK
The declaration celebrates BTSβs return to Los Angeles during the ARIRANG World Tour, where RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook will perform four sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium.
An official proclamation ceremony was held at Los Angeles City Hall on August 31, attended by representatives from the LA City Council, tourism officials and BIGHIT MUSIC.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass recognized BTSβs global cultural impact and the connection the group has built with the city.
The City Council resolution also highlighted BTS as one of the most influential artists of their generation and recognized the groupβs role in creating greater global visibility for Korean and Asian artists, alongside messages involving self-love and hope.
And LA is doing something visually VERY ARIRANG-coded today:
Los Angeles City Hall will light up RED on September 1.
Why red?
Because red is the key visual colour associated with BTSβs fifth studio album, ARIRANG.
So instead of the usual purple BTS city takeoverβ¦
LA said:
ARIRANG RED. β€οΈβπ₯
The dates could not be more perfect either.
BTS begin their SoFi Stadium run tonight with concerts scheduled for:
September 1
September 2
September 5
September 6
All four are sold out.
And there is some serious history attached to SoFi.
BTS last held their own concerts there during PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE β LA in late 2021.
According to Yonhap, this return comes approximately four years and nine months later.
Different chapter.
Different album.
Different world tour.
Still seven.
And now the city itself has an entire BTS Week.
Honestlyβ¦
Los Angeles did not need to be told twice. ππ
