“You Got No Jams” — The Ancient BTS Meme Explained 😭

If you ever encounter an older BTS compilation, there is a VERY high chance you will hear:

“Jimin, you got no jams.”

This is ancient ARMY civilization. 😭

The moment comes from a 2014 BANGTAN BOMB filmed while BTS were travelling to Los Angeles.

The members were speaking English and joking with one another when RM told Jimin:

“Jimin, you got no jams.”

Why “jams”?

It is wordplay based on the Korean expression 재미없어 (jaemi eopseo), meaning something like “not fun” or “not interesting.”

RM turned “jaemi” into the English-sounding joke “jams.”

And the internet NEVER recovered.

For years afterward, “no jams” appeared in BTS memes, fan edits, usernames, compilations and comments.

It eventually became so overused that veteran ARMY started joking about the joke itself.

Even better?

Jimin later appeared in another BANGTAN BOMB titled “Jimin: I got yes jam.”
